Winter Tales with the AX Fam ❄️🇰🇷
At AX Image, we believe in creating beautiful homes—and that begins with nurturing the people behind the vision. This January, our team embarked on an unforgettable 8-day winter journey to South Korea, filled with culture, adventure, laughter, and of course, design inspiration.
Day 1: A Warm Welcome in Winter
We landed in Incheon and headed straight for Ganghwa Island, a charming retreat rich in history and natural beauty. At Chaoyang Textile Factory Coffee—a former textile mill turned industrial-chic café—we enjoyed our first cups of Korean coffee. From there, we explored Incheon Chinatown and strolled through the whimsical Fairy Tale Village, where colorful buildings turned us into wide-eyed kids again.
Day 2: Storybook Dreams & Winter Romance
Our journey continued to the picturesque Petite France and Nami Island, famous for its romantic, tree-lined walkways. The serene beauty of Morning Calm Arboretum was the perfect end to our day, offering a breath of fresh air and peaceful reflection among winter blooms.
Day 3: Ski Day!
Nothing bonds a team quite like falling over together on the slopes. At Oak Valley Ski Resort, we geared up for a full day of skiing. From first-time skiers to snow pros, everyone had a blast—ending the night with Korea’s beloved combo: fried chicken and beer!
Day 4: Culture, Nature, and Warm Springs
We immersed ourselves in the past at the Korean Folk Village, where traditional architecture and crafts brought history to life. Later, we picked fresh strawberries and unwound in the relaxing Icheon Hot Springs—a well-deserved recharge.
Day 5: Ice Fishing, Alpacas & Shopping Fun
The highlight of our adventure? The Hwacheon Mountain Trout Ice and Snow Festival, where we tried ice fishing on a frozen lake and marveled at stunning ice sculptures. At the Alpaca Ranch, we made furry new friends before ending the day at Dongdaemun—Seoul’s shopping paradise.
Day 6: Palaces, Beauty, and Bibimbap
A visit to Gyeongbokgung Palace gave us a glimpse into Korea’s royal past. We explored traditional wellness at a ginseng hall, tried Korean beauty trends, and even made our own bibimbap during a fun culinary show. We wrapped up the day in Myeongdong, with its vibrant mix of fashion, food, and neon lights.
Day 7: A Day to Explore
With a full day of free time, our team explored Seoul in their own ways—from quaint hanok villages to trendy cafés. Whether it was shopping for souvenirs or hiking up Namsan Tower, everyone found a little something that spoke to them.
Day 8: Goodbye, For Now
Before heading to the airport, we learned about Korean herbal remedies and liver health supplements—a thoughtful close to a trip that blended wellness, bonding, and cultural appreciation.
A Trip That Reflects Our Spirit
This trip wasn’t just about sightseeing—it was a celebration of teamwork, creativity, and recharging for the exciting projects ahead. As we return to our work designing beautiful homes, we carry with us the warmth of shared memories and renewed inspiration.
